Bentonville is an extraordinary little part of the world that I am privileged enough to call home. I was born in Bentonville in 1973 and have called it or the surrounding area home every since. Thanks to Mr. Sam Walton and Wal Mart, I have been fortunate enough to witness a dynamic transformation of this sleepy little town into the home of the world’s largest retailer. Even with Bentonville’s claim to fame, it has somehow remained a quaint and down to earth. Quite simply, it is just a place that anyone would be proud to call home. The suburbs or smaller towns that support Bentonville and Wal Mart are Centerton, Bella Vista, Cave Springs, Pea Ridge, Hiwasse, Gravette, Highfill, and many more even smaller communities. The population as reported by Zillow is 28,357. The average age is 32 and the average income is $39,936.00.

Fortunately, Bentonville has been slightly sheltered from the full efect of the economic collapse.  We have definetely felt the pain of the battered economy, but the strength of Wal Mart and the supportive businesses coupled with the other large industries nearby have kept our local economic situation from total ruin.  Our current home value is trending upwards from a steep decline in value from $177,500.  in 2008 to a low of $159,000 in the beginning of 2009.  Since hitting our low of $159,000.00 the current median home value is up to $161,400.00  However, values are still down substantially from 2008.  Of course, our deflated currency coupled with an above average vacancy rate in Luxury homes for sale Bentonville are the ultimate cause.
